Executive Director Savannah Leon at the Glenwood Senior Center

Open Public Meeting at the Glenwood Senior Center

Executive Director of the Catron County Commission on Aging, Savannah Leon visited the Glenwood Senior Center on Friday, the 28th of June to explain the financial quagmire the Senior Centers find themselves in. First word on this issue threatened a closing of the Center at the end of June.

Our congressional representatives, Gail Armstrong and Gabriel Ramos, have arranged financing through July and this issue is an Action Item for the July 11, 2019 Board of County Commissioners Open Meeting in Reserve at 9:30AM.

All the People of Catron County who need, use or support the Catron County Senior centers should plan to attend and make your opinions known!

As always, Catron County News provides video/audio of these open meetings, un-cut, for public viewing. The documentary above was filmed by Rose Millmore inside the Glenwood Senior Center and Steve Gartin filmed outside due to the un-constitutional 2nd Amendment ban imposed by the Board of Catron County Commission on Aging.

An exit poll conducted outside the Senior Center after the meeting reflected a 100% dis-satisfaction with the content of the meeting inside. Many people declined to offer their opinions on video, but had a lot to say off-camera.

The turn-out was 54 local citizens, which was excellent considering the very short notice and the fact that the meeting was only advertised by flyers posted locally by Catron County News and postings on www.catroncountynews.org and www.catroncounty.org
