New Mexico Voter Fraud?

The report notes that as a result, absentee ballots need only the voter’s signature.
“Today, however, the name, address, and year of birth fields are the Voter ID, and it makes no sense not to verify that information, as is required for every other type of voting,” the report says. “The removal of the second signature eliminated the crucial element in confirming the voter was who he or she claimed to be, but replaced it with the new ID standard.”
Neither the New Mexico Secretary of State’s Office, which oversees elections, nor the Doña Ana County Clerk’s Office responded to inquiries about the situation.
“We do not require photo ID in New Mexico, but we do require voters to provide their name, address, and year of birth,” Harrison said, adding:
This law was ignored with the absentee ballots in Doña Ana County. More generally, if absentee voting is going to be converted from a backstop form of voting for out-of-town or bedridden voters to something that independent groups try to promote through mail and on-the-ground canvassing, then there frankly needs to be more attention given to security—and more attention given to the operation of those groups.

An audit of absentee ballots suggests fraud may have occurred in one of the closest House races in the country, The Daily Signal has learned.
Democrat Xochitl Torres Small squeaked by Republican Yvette Herrell in the final results of the Nov. 6 election.
On election night, Herrell declared victory in the race to represent New Mexico’s 2nd Congressional District. But as more votes were counted, Torres Small secured the win.
The roughly 3,500-vote victory for Torres Small—out of about 200,000 cast in the southern New Mexico district—relied heavily on absentee ballots from Doña Ana County, the largest county in the district, including the Las Cruces area.
The liberal Left continue to push their radical agenda against American values. The good news is there is a solution.
A new audit report obtained by The Daily Signal alleges a “concerted effort” to push for absentee votes where New Mexico voter ID laws are not enforced. It also points to potential fraud in applying for absentee ballots, and says a significant number of absentee ballots were time-stamped after the 7 p.m. deadline election night.

64,000 Cases of Possible Voter Fraud Being Investigated in New Mexico
By Susan Jones | June 15, 2011 | 10:03 AM EDT
From the Santa Fe New Mexican: New Mexico Secretary of State Dianna Duran has turned over about 64,000 cases of what she calls possible voter fraud to the State Department of Public Safety for investigation.
That’s more than 10 percent of the 607,700 people who voted in the 2010 general election in New Mexico — and it’s way more than the 37 cases of foreign nationals illegally voting that Duran mentioned at a legislative hearing earlier this year, the newspaper reported.
Duran mentioned the 37 cases of illegal voting while testifying in favor of a bill that would have required voters to show photo identification at the polls before casting ballots. She said at the time that in cross-checking voter registrations with a state Motor Vehicle Division database, her office had found 117 foreign nationals who had registered to vote. All of these, she said, had listed Social Security numbers on voter-registration forms that didn’t match up with their names. At least 37 of those actually voted in state elections, Duran said at the time

But well after midnight, Harrison said, the office of New Mexico’s secretary of state informed the Herrell campaign of 4,000 absentee ballots in Doña Ana County still to be counted, which would not have flipped the race to Torres Small, who previously had not held elective office.
However, the state informed the campaign of another 4,000 absentee votes that had been counted but not tabulated, which was enough to change the outcome.
The report says nongovernmental groups “are almost certainly engaging in at best aggressive—and at worst fraudulent—procurement of absentee ballot applications.”

Election fraud is nothing new, but it has been more rampant since the 2008 elections and the vast majority of the election fraud cases have been perpetrated by Democrats.
Over the past 10 years, we have seen evidence of dead people voting, people voting multiple times and in more than one state, voting machines automatically changing votes in favor of Democrats and non-citizens (including illegal aliens) voting.

Nongovernmental groups, the report says, “are almost certainly engaging in at best aggressive — and at worst fraudulent — procurement of absentee ballot applications.”
One quarter of the people who purportedly requested absentee ballots from the Doña Ana County clerk didn’t mail them back, according to the report.
That is more than twice the statewide average for unreturned absentee ballots.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Today, the American Civil Liberties Union of New Mexico (ACLU-NM) filed public records requests with the Office of Governor Susana Martinez and the NM Secretary of State seeking all records and correspondence related to Secretary of State Dianna Duran’s announcement yesterday that her office had uncovered possible instances of voter fraud by foreign nationals. Through the requests, the ACLU-NM seeks to ensure the transparency and objectivity of the investigation.
“We want to know the motivations behind this investigation and the validity of any assertions that the New Mexico law allowing drivers licenses for all immigrants contributed to voter fraud,” said ACLU-NM Executive Director Peter Simonson. “We take claims of voter fraud seriously because they undermine voter confidence in our electoral system and tend to discourage participation in elections. We also wish to ensure that any exchange of records in this investigation did not violate voter privacy guarantees that are written into state law.”
